A pedestrian steps off the curb and into the road without looking and promptly gets knocked flat by a passing cyclist. "You were really lucky there," says the cyclist. "What on earth are you talking about! That really hurt!" says the pedestrian, still on the pavement, rubbing his head. The cyclist replies, "Well, usually I drive a bus!"

Joking aside, it's getting really crowded on some streets. So much so that in places like Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh cyclists are heading north to Person County for less traffic and more open road. To that end, we have put together an online guide to help you choose the best bike ride for you.

You can select your route by stating point. If you're feeling lazy or energized, you can select a route by length, if. You can also select a route based upon points of interest. It's really up to you.

So, pedal on up to Person County. Where the roads are open and waiting.
