In collaboration with and the Person County Soil & Water Conservation District and The Person County Tourism Development Authority, the Person County Quilt Trail Committee is excited to announce the launch of the Person County Quilt Trail Rejuvenation Project.

The Person County Quilt Trail has served as a way to celebrate the stories, heritage, creativity, agriculture, and scenic rural landscapes that make our community special. Through colorful quilt squares displayed throughout the county, visitors and residents alike are encouraged to travel scenic backroads, discover local farms and businesses, and experience the charm and history woven throughout Person County.

As part of the rejuvenation project, the committee is currently working to:

  • Refresh and restore existing quilt squares that may need repairs or replacement
  • Inventory and update quilt trail locations and participant information
  • Develop updated printed marketing materials, maps, and promotional pieces
  • Encourage increased visitation and exploration throughout Person County
  • Expand participation opportunities and welcome new quilt trail locations across the county

The committee is also working to make participation more accessible and inclusive while continuing to preserve the integrity and spirit of the trail. Property owners, businesses, agritourism destinations, organizations, and community members interested in becoming part of the Quilt Trail are encouraged to apply.

Individuals who already have a quilt square displayed are also encouraged to reconnect with the committee to ensure their information is current and to explore opportunities for restoration, updates, or inclusion in upcoming promotional materials.

In addition, applicants interested in creating a new quilt square or refreshing an existing one may be eligible to seek tourism grant funding assistance through the TDA, depending on project eligibility and funding availability.

Applications for the Person County Quilt Trail are accepted year-round and reviewed at the discretion of the Quilt Trail Committee. However, to be included in the upcoming printed Quilt Trail booklet and 2026 marketing materials, completed applications must be submitted by June 12, 2026.

The committee hopes this renewed effort will continue growing the Quilt Trail into an even stronger cultural and tourism asset for the community - one that encourages visitors to explore new destinations, supports local businesses and agritourism, highlights local artistry, and preserves the stories that make Person County unique.
