The Person County Tourism Development Authority (PCTDA) is thrilled to announce the implementation of new grant policies and applications. These policies were meticulously crafted by our dedicated staff and have undergone approval and refinement by the PCTDA Board of Directors. Our aim is to streamline processes and create fresh opportunities for tourism-related projects and events.
New Grant Categories
The grants will now be divided into two distinct categories:
-
Event & Marketing Grants (Policy & Application)
-
Enhancement Grants (Policy & Application)
These new categories are designed to better cater to the diverse needs of our tourism partners and initiatives.
Resources and Tools
To assist applicants, we have provided the following resources:
-
PCTDA Grant Application Best Practices and Recommendations: This document will offer guidance on how to craft a strong application.
-
PCTDA Marketing Plan Tips: This tool will help in strategizing effective marketing plans for your event or project.
Submission Guidelines
The grant applications are available on our website (https://itsbetterinperson.com/tourism-grants/)
Here are some key points to keep in mind:
-
Submission Timing: We prefer you to submit your grant applications at least 90 days prior to your event. This allows for maximum attendance, sufficient advertising time, and the potential for overnight bookings.
-
Funding Requests: All funding requests to the PCTDA must be submitted through a formal grant application.
-
Board Discretion: Please note that all grant applications are subject to the discretion of the PCTDA Board of Directors.
Grant Expenditure Forms
Grant expenditure forms are still required to be submitted upon the approval of a grant in order to be reimbursed. This form will not change and will still be available on our website. All forms must be submitted by June 25 of any given year in order to receive reimbursement.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the PCTDA Board of Directors for their invaluable contributions in streamlining this process. Their efforts have paved the way for new opportunities to support our tourism partners and enhance the visitor experience in Person County.
