Looking for something cheerful to do this Holiday season? With many restrictions in place due to the coronavirus, most traditional holiday events are canceled; but the Christmas Spirit is thriving in several local communities that have organized their own outdoor drive-by light tours to send a message of good cheer to residents.

  • Light up Person County: hosted by Person County Recreation, Arts and Parks, this self-guided tour of lights throughout the county and the city of Roxboro will begin on December 11 and run through the 26th from 6 - 9 pm daily.   • Be the Light: Caswell County's tour of lights will run from November 27 - January 1, from 6 pm till midnight daily. The tour has over 60 organizations and locations participating and covers several areas of Caswell including the towns of Yanceyville and Milton, Providence community and the Caswell County Senior Center. Maps are available through the Caswell County Chamber of Commerce as well as area businesses locations.
  • Lights for Hope: Halifax County's first drive through light show will take place on December 11 & 12 and December 18 & 19 from 5-8 pm. The location of the tour is on James D. Hagood Hwy. in South Boston VA. There is a cost of $5 per car, and all proceeds will benefit the Halifax Cancer Association. You can find additional information on the group's Facebook Page.
  • Light the Night on Hyco Lake: for Hyco boaters, residents of Hyco Lake will be lighting up their docks and boathouses for a self guided tour for boaters on December 12, from 6-9 pm (Rain date: 12/13).
